Hi, I’m Chris Zeigler

In 2009, I began praying this prayer: “God, I’ll go wherever You want me to go and I’ll do whatever You want me to do.”

It was soon after that God answered my prayer. I never thought I’d be working in ministry, but after 2 years as a television producer God completely changed my career path. That spring at a BASIC conference He spoke to my wife and I and called us to join the staff of BASIC College Ministries. In that moment God reminded me of my heart to impact college students and the things he had spoken to me as a young man about being involved in ministry and leadership.

Since then, we have been on a challenging and exciting journey that has resulted in a lot of stretching and a lot of growth. We moved to the tiny town of Lima, NY in faith and we have never looked back. My wife, Cheryl, and I set to work and started campus ministries at three colleges in NY. In 2017, I was privileged to become the Executive Director of BASIC, the position that I currently hold. In 2018, after seeing many struggle with the transition from college to life after college, I released my first book What’s Next? Navigating Life After College. Along with my role at BASIC, I love communicating the message of the Gospel, getting to champion Godly transformation and challenging others to fulfill the call God has placed on their life.

Apart from my work at BASIC and preaching, you’ll often hear me talking about my love for the Las Vegas Raiders and all things sports. You’ll also see me using my iPhone to get “the perfect shot” to feed my love for photography and playing with my three adorable kids.

What's Next? Navigating Life After College by Chris Zeigler

TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HECK YOU’RE DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?

YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE.

Navigating life after college can feel like you’re just wandering,
unsure of what’s next. Throughout my twenties, I had to deal with a lot of uncertainty. It started with a career change that took me in a direction completely different from what I had majored in at college, to moving to a town I had never been to before, having two children, and trying to discover my purpose through it all.

If you don’t have a life plan mapped out and you’re not sure what comes next, it’s actually ok. Many times our lives don’t go the way we planned them to begin with, but God has a plan for us.

Intertwining my own personal experiences and the life of Moses, I offer both encouragement and practical advice for how to navigate life after college, so you can go after the dreams God has put within you and stop fearing what’s next.

Chris did an awesome job of preaching at our church. His message was dynamic, insightful and just what our congregation needed to hear. I would put him near the top of my list of guest speakers.

How can I serve you?

As someone who has helped plan numerous conferences, I understand the challenge of finding a great speaker. I know firsthand how vital it is to the success of an event. I’d be happy to help you in any way I can.

Chris puts in the time and effort to prepare for each speaking opportunity. He understands the value of story to illustrate his message, and he excels with both young adults and a full congregation. I would definitely consider Chris to minister whether you’re looking to fill the pulpit on a Sunday or engage your young adults at a special event.
